What is a Doula?
Our Birth Philosophy
Childbirth is unpredictable and can be challenging. We believe the best support is that which involves clear information before the big day, open conversation about available choices, empowerment and comfort throughout labor and delivery, and a safe touchstone in the early postpartum days. It is our intention to provide this to each birth team, in the manner that is most suitable to them.
What is a Doula?
A Doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to their client before, during and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
Why hire a Doula?
Countless scientific trials examining doula care demonstrate remarkably improved physical and psychological outcomes for pregnant, birthing, and postpartum mothers and their babies. Including being 28% less likely to have a cesarean section, 31% less likely to use synthetic oxytocin to speed up labor, and higher APGAR scores. Overall, Doulas have a positive impact on the well-being of the entire family.
